It’s an exciting time for our family—Puspa has started kindergarten at a new school! 🎒❤️

Just like children around the world, Balinese children begin their education by learning through play, songs, stories, art and making new friends. Kindergarten helps children build confidence, independence and social skills before they begin primary school.

In Indonesia, the school system generally includes:

Kindergarten (TK) for young children before primary school.
Primary School (SD) – 6 years.
Junior High School (SMP) – 3 years.
Senior High School (SMA) or vocational school (SMK) – 3 years.

Alongside reading, writing and mathematics, many Balinese children also learn about their culture, traditions and respect for their community and family. School life is balanced with important religious ceremonies and family celebrations, which remain a central part of growing up in Bali.

Watching Puspa begin this new chapter reminds us how education and culture grow together, helping children learn not only knowledge but also kindness, gratitude and respect.
